Episode Notes

Terra Formars is about humanity's attempt to colonize Mars using cockroaches to terraform it, but 500 years later, the first human mission finds the cockroaches have evolved into giant, powerful, humanoid creatures, leading Earth to send genetically modified elite warriors to fight them, while uncovering secrets about the "Alien Engine Virus" affecting Earth and the roaches' true nature. The series follows these missions, focusing on intense, bloody battles where soldiers gain insect like powers to fight the formidable "Terraformars". Reader Version

In this episode of the Terra Formars podcast, host Bruce continues the discussion from chapter 45 and dives into chapter 46, titled "Dragon Flame." He sets the scene by recalling the German team's exploration of mysterious pyramids on Mars, structures reminiscent of ancient human architecture but now found on the red planet. Bruce notes the eerie atmosphere created by the black and white visuals and the puzzling significance of these pyramids, which may or may not be important to the evolved cockroach creatures known as Terraformars. Bruce highlights a moment of character interaction involving Yvonne, who blushes after a comment from Alexander, adding a touch of human emotion amid the tense exploration.

He speculates about Yvonne’s transformation abilities, suggesting that her altered form might include a tail, which could explain damage to her clothing. The conversation shifts to the strategic concerns of the team, particularly Captain Baldi’s suspicion that the Terraformars anticipated their arrival despite no visible defenses or pursuit, implying a deeper mystery about the creatures’ intentions. The podcast then explores the discovery of a strange moth with fingers as feet, which Bruce finds both fascinating and unsettling.

This creature, identified as a silken moth, was once used as food by the Bugs 2 team on Earth, but its odd behavior and evolution raise questions about the environment on Mars and the nature of the local fauna. Bruce expresses hope that these mutated moths are confined to this area, emphasizing the isolation and danger of the team's mission. Bruce also reflects on the broader implications of the mission, including the political and scientific stakes. He mentions Hiruma’s insistence that the Japanese team develop a vaccine, pondering whether this is motivated by genuine concern for children affected by the Alien Engine Virus or by the lucrative potential of medical patents.

This introduces a layer of complexity regarding the motivations behind the mission and the competition for resources and technology. The episode reveals that the pyramids are not a temple or shelter but rather a storage site, possibly linked to the Great Carp 3, an unmanned spacecraft that mysteriously went silent. This discovery adds a new dimension to the story, suggesting that the Terraformars and human teams are uncovering remnants of past space exploration efforts. Bruce notes the increasing odd behavior of the Terraformars, who have apparently learned to exploit human technology and resources, signaling a shift in their tactics.

As the chapter concludes, Bruce encourages listeners to stay engaged with the series, teasing more content to come and reminding fans to follow the podcast for updates. He closes with a casual, friendly sign off, maintaining a conversational tone that invites listeners to continue exploring the intense and evolving world of Terra Formars alongside him.

Hi, what's going on guys? It's your boy Bruce. Welcome back again to another episode on the podcast. We are carrying on from the last chapter, which was chapter 45 of Terraformers, and we are reading chapter 46 titled Dragon Flame. If you're new here, don't forget to follow the podcast, okay? Turn on notifications and check out my site where I post both anime and science podcasts as well as, you know, my interests within those fields. Alright, let's go. That's just the wind noise going through the entrance, I guess. Remember pyramids are like one of the oldest buildings or sites of humanity, and it's being shown here also on Mars. So if I remember correctly, the German team are going to explore the tunnels.

Because it's all white and black, right? You would think this is something that is also related, or maybe you will, maybe you won't. But because it's white, and this is obviously a light, and it's white and black, it's kind of confusing if that makes sense. Well, yeah. Okay. The females, officers, back. He pointed, he didn't notice until he noticed. Whoa! Hmm? Yvonne, why are you blushing? Um, it's just, um, Alexander said, did I say something? Sorry, didn't see a thing. Hmm. The pyramids may not be anything important. Huh? So let's head back. That was fast. Don't give up, Cap'n Beard. Cap'n Baldi. Cap'n. I think what it is, obviously, when she transforms, she may have like a tail.

Because if I remember correctly, that's probably why she has a hole in her clothes. It just doesn't make sense. Excuse me, sorry. Hmm. Spare me the groundless insults, Yvonne. Tell me, what's suspicious here? Oops, did I hurt your feelings, Cap'n? They didn't follow us. Exactly. We weren't followed, and there are no defences. Yet, they knew we would come. So, that's strange. I have a few hypotheses. And one is that the pyramids never meant anything to them. Huh? Then, um, what's that mean for our mission? It doesn't change. Right. Even if they aren't important to the roaches, it's significant that they would attract our interest. Something must be here.

It's possible that Rahab and the roaches aren't after the same thing. Look at this. The moth from earlier? It showed us the entrance. I accidentally crushed it. Ah! This. Could've... Couldn't evolve in 500 years. But it's only been 20. Look, it's got fingers as feet. Which, of course, is disgusting and scary. Whoa. Is that? It. It's a silken moth. Bugs 2 had them for food. I did notice it was flying oddly. Are all the moths here like this? I don't know. I hope it's only in this area. We're the only ones who can explore here. So, we keep searching. So, one of the moths back on Earth. Have faith in Japan's team. I guess that's all we can do. Hiruma said that Japan must make a vaccine.

But is that to save kids like Sakurato? Or to monopolize the rights? I don't know. But I think he cares for the kids too. The rights will be huge. Especially since natural resources are running out. And technological innovation has stored. Would anyone upset an already uncertain project just for the medical rights? Upset the project? Yeah. I think so. And it has something to do with that operation. This isn't the roaches' base or a shelter or a temple. It's storage. That's not a bog's craft. That shape is Great Carp 3. The first unmanned spacecraft that went silent. They are watching. Glint. What's crashing down? Let's go. Can you stand? Yeah. What's wrong? It's just... How did they plan to get out of here?

Sorry, it's not important. Let's go. No. For a while, these things have been acting odd. I thought they would prefer to just steal guns and vehicles. But apparently, it's been a while since they discovered our planet and our combustibles. Unreleased scene. At least finish your dessert. What a waste. That was chapter 45. I'm sorry, 46 of Terraformers. If you guys enjoyed this episode on the podcast, let me know. More will be coming. And make sure to turn on notifications so you're updated on when and where the next episode happens to land on the podcast.
