In this episode of the podcast, the host Rus dives into Goblin Slayer chapter 105, titled "A Captured Priestess!!" After a hiatus, he returns to catch up on the story, inviting new listeners to follow along and share their thoughts. The chapter opens with a young priestess who has just formed her first adventuring party. Despite her initial confidence, she quickly finds herself in danger when goblins attack, highlighting the perilous nature of adventuring, especially for novices. Rus notes the priestess’s transformation from timid to seemingly more confident, questioning whether this is genuine or if someone else might be impersonating her.
The tension escalates as the goblin leader appears, and the party is forced to abandon their cargo and flee. The priestess suffers a harsh fall, and Rus reflects on the grim reality that women in such vulnerable positions often face, emphasizing the need for proper protection and caution in dangerous situations. The host critiques the priestess’s decision to travel north with minimal defense, suggesting that her predicament was almost inevitable given the circumstances. He expresses frustration that she did not use her priestly powers to defend herself, underscoring the harshness of the world Goblin Slayer inhabits.
The episode also touches on the arrival of a royal figure who assigns a quest involving a mysterious "stone of fire" on the holy mountain, hinting at larger political and supernatural stakes. Rus shares his thoughts on the broader narrative, including the role of the adventurers and the political intrigue surrounding the king and his captain. He appreciates the depth of the story, noting how the hero’s strength extends beyond combat to inspire hope in others. The episode closes with a reflection on leadership and responsibility, contrasting the solitary battles of adventurers with the complex challenges faced by rulers.
Throughout the podcast, Rus maintains a conversational and personal tone, blending summary with his own opinions and reactions. He encourages listeners to engage with the story and share their perspectives, making the episode both an analysis and a community invitation. The host’s enthusiasm for Goblin Slayer is clear, and he balances critique with appreciation for the series’ themes and characters.

Basics, what's going on guys, it's your boy Rus, welcome back again to another episode on the podcast, today we are reading Goblin Slayer, okay chapter 105, it's been a while, but we're here, and we're gonna catch up, so if you're new here, turn on notifications, follow the podcast, and let me know what you guys feel about this episode on the podcast, on this chapter, alright, um, excuse me, I'd like to get just out of town, is there any chance I could ask you for a ride? Oh, did my cousin send you my way? Sure thing, then, I'm going north though, you won't be cold?
I'll be fine, thanks, north is just the direction I wanted to go, she's hopping over, because this is a terrible representation of how to hop over a fence, here, a little thank you, a gemstone, is she really a novice? Hello, we've got a lively one, cargo and destination, woolen textiles here, I'm heading toward the holy mount, oh, and I've got myself a passenger today, steel rank golden hair, blue eyes, 15, no, 16, I see, a priestess of the earth mother, this says, you're an adventurer? Sure I am, I'm investigating the disturbance at the holy mount, hold on, I was going to say, why is she so confident now? Like, this type of drawing, she was never like this, she was always very timid and shy, who is this person?
Did this person take her clothes? I remember the last thing I read about her was that her clothes were taken by someone else, I think this could be the person, just dressed up as her, you know? Ah, what a lovely day, yeah, being outside is great, that makes you sound more like a prisoner than an adventurer, oh, look at the face, maybe they're not so different, the jail, the temple, the castle, too true, there's no real easy life anywhere, I guess, you think so? I don't agree, hmm, just my imagination? What's wrong? I thought something... Goblins are here to slay. Goblins!
This must be the leader, it's got like a design on its head, normally when goblins have this type of design, I think they are leaders, unless they're like really big, like, I don't know, massive, I can't remember the name for them, but unless they're like really big, I get... Get your head down! Here, I think it hit like a little stomp, just one crit and we're toast, so you're going to fight? Good, I'll help. Fight? We're going to run! I'm going to cut the cart loose, get over here, quick! Abandon your cargo? You can't, we'll fight! Against goblins? Damn, he shot one right next to her foot. Eek! We have to give up the wagon, this way, alright, I understand. Quickly girl, to me, right, I'm come...
Boom, and she fell off. Smack. She hurts off real badly. No! He's going to leave her, he ain't going to come back for her. You know what goblins do to females? It's crazy work. No! Don't you dare! Do you have any idea who I... Whack. Reality is kicking in boy. And it's not even that I don't feel like women in general can't handle themselves, but there's certain things that women just can't put themselves into position to do so, like this position you should not be putting yourself in this position. Why as a priestess are you travelling with just that one guy going towards the north with no warrior, no defender, do you know what I mean? And now you expect someone to save you.
I mean I'm not saying she expects but come on, at this point once she tried to defend herself, she got hit and she's just the reality of her being like oh my gosh I am in dangerous trouble right now. Like you're expecting someone to help you, you want someone to help you. You're supposed to be like a magician goblin. No, no, please! Damn. Majesty, I'm here. Huh? Behave. Was that like a flashback? It can't be a flashback, they don't look the same people. I think it's just two different places. She's a priestess, I don't know why she didn't use her priest powers. I mean goblin's clear, I don't know man. It's just one of those things that just scares me. I can't lie. Huh? Ow! You called majesty and here we are.
And I thank you. So, what's the stage? You said I didn't have to come to the council. You're fine. We simply gave a quest to a most unusual silver ranks adventurer. And need we not get involved? There's something else I want to ask you to handle. I don't know if it's connected or not. Sure thing, your majesty. Beat that hook and we're on it. A stone of fire has fallen from the sky on the holy mountain to the north. It seems to be giving off a rather unsettling aura. So, you want us to check it out and kick any bad guy's butts? You got it. Good. I've set aside some travelling expenses for you. I can't promise you 50 gold coins and a sword or anything though. Aw, that's fine. I don't need any money.
All I need is... We receive it gratefully, your majesty. It is only polite to accept what is offered to you. And if we should need anything else, talk to the cardinal and the captain. I've told them to take care of you. We could have gone with you if we were still adventuring. But someone is very insistent that the king's own captain not get involved. Right. Indeed. You must stop suggesting that the best way to help the state or the national treasury would be for you to slay a dragon or two. You think he'll stop just because you say so? Someone says so at the other's behest. It won't help anything, us running up the banners and charging into battle, right? That's right. I am important.
He is the most important person in the country now. Though, for the life of me, I can't imagine why. Then, cardinal, if you'd share the details, of course. Hey, mister. Mister. Tell me the rest of that story from last time. Last time? When you mean the story of how I one shotted a huge bird monster? Yeah, yeah. You stopped right when the horde of greater demons had you surrounded. I want to hear how it ends. This is good. The hero is more than her strength alone. Indeed, her strength is more than her fighting prowess alone. Everyone adores the girl for her pure heart, which turns buds of worry to flowers of hope without the slightest effort on her part. And that, I think, is what will save the world.
Were I still an adventurer myself? I will set out in person to save my sister. But I took the crown, for better and for worse. I no longer lead a party of six people, but an entire human nation. I no longer confront gloomy dungeons, but the whole game board of the four cornered world. It is only now, from this porch, that I have begun to think such things as this. Please, adventurers, save my sister. And that is Goblin Slayer, chapter 105. Let me know what you guys thought about it. Let me know if you enjoyed it, okay? Follow the podcast, turn on notifications, and will they be watching or listening to this in the morning, afternoon, or evening? Take care of yourselves, guys. It's me, Roy Roos, and I'm out.
Peace.
